Getting to Geeli Mitti Farms (from Delhi NCT)
Assuming you are a good driver and experienced at driving on hilly terrain on single lanes and dirt patches. If not, please take a cab or public transport.
Distance: Approx. 300kms, Time: 7 hours
Route: You can put ‘Pangoot, Uttrakhand’ in Google Maps, just make sure you follow the below route option for the shortest, fastest drive over.
Delhi – Ghaziabad – Gajraula – Rampur – Suar – Bazpur – left from Jim Corbett Museum – left onto Kilbury road 2 kms before Sukhatal in Nainital – Pangot – dirt road from here for 5 kms down to Mahrora Village.
Call us then. There won’t be much phone network at Pangot and in the dirt road patch till Mahrora. You can either park the car near the Hanuman Temple at Mahrora or if it’s a 4 wheel drive, can drive it up another 200 mtrs towards Geeli Mitti Farm.
There are several overnight buses plying from Delhi to Nainital, boarding from Delhi between 9pm to 11.30pm. Depending on the bus, the boarding points at Delhi could be Connaught Place, Red Fort, RK Ashram Metro Station, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Anand Vihar Metro Station and Kaushambi. These buses reach Nainital between 6.30-7am. Just search online for Delhi to Nainital buses and you could book from one of the ticketing portals.
From Nainital, you could take a Max Cab straight to the Farm. We could help pre-book this for you or pass on the numbers of some of the regular cab drivers to you to book directly. Fare is typically approx. Rs.800.
You could also choose to come by a shared Max Cab that runs on this route. The cabs are boarded from the taxi stand in front of Anda Market (Egg Market) in Nainital. The cab leaves when full and full means an unlimited number of people (prepare for an adventure). If you tend to get car sick, try sitting on the front seat ideally or the middle seat. The fare is approx. Rs.50 per seat. There is no guarantee of what time the cab will be available. Except Sundays, typically there is one around 10am and then a few between 1pm to 3pm. Again, we are happy to make a few calls around and find out which cabs might be plying on the day of your arrival.
The nearest railway station is Kathgodam. It is well connected so please check on the Indian Railways site or an agent about options from your nearest origin train station.

If you really want to be adventurous and rought it out, you could take a bus or shared cab from the Kathgodam station to Nainital. Ticket should be about Rs.100. And then from Nainital, a shared Cab (~Rs.50) or personal Cab (~Rs.800). For details of both options, please read the previous section.
