The special Annual workshop by Team Geeli Mitti is here. Designed to guide you through all steps of building a magical healthy energy-efficient ecological mud home for yourself.<\/p>\n

3 weeks of immersion into natural building and life\u2026 in the hills of Nainital within a bird sanctuary with gurgling streams and forests and birds and butterflies all around.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t need any prior experience or training. Suitable for all fitness levels and age.<\/p>\n

Whether you want to get started with building your dream home or are just curious to know more, maybe you want to meet like-minded friends or get some Geeli Mitti dose of inspiration and fun\u2026 this is for you!<\/p>\n

There will be detailed theory sessions and hands-on work daily.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n\u2013 How to use Permaculture principles and concepts of sectors and zoning to decide siting of your home.
\n\u2013 Understanding designing and using solar passive design principles for an energy efficient home.
\n\u2013 Understanding how to build a foundation and plinth and why \u2013 dry stone masonry, stone with mortar, rubble trenches.
\n\u2013 Detailed theory, hands-on work to understand by doing, tips and tricks, live tour of real homes of below techniques :

\n: Wattle and Daub

\n\u2013 Brick laying patterns \u2013 differences and applications.
\n\u2013 Plastering : recipes, techniques, finishes, tools and application.
\n\u2013 Building utilities into your design \u2013 electricals and plumbing.
\n\u2013 Roofing options and hands-on live build demonstration for Living Roof, Slate Roof, Clay Tile Roof, Thatched Roof.
\n\u2013 Exploring Flooring options for a Natural Home.
\n\u2013 Clay sculpting, murals, mosaic and more.
\n\u2013 Creating and using Clay Paints and Pigments.
\n\u2013 Preparing and using Lime Wash.

All funds, post direct costs, go to support our community initiatives. We do not ask for donations and believe sustainability of any initiative also means financial sustainability.<\/p>\n

** Registration amount to reserve your place is Rs.10,000 plus GST.
\nBalance training fees to be paid as per email communication post-registration. Failure to pay the balance dues by designated timeframe will result in cancellation of your seat and the registration fees will be non-refundable.<\/p>\n

You will receive a confirmation email along with a welcome letter with dos and don\u2019ts.<\/p>\n

Our seats for the annual workshops fill fast. We don’t allow cancellations for any reason. It helps us prioritise the course and commitment to self. However, If you can\u2019t make it owing to a genuine emergency, you can send someone else in your place with prior intimation.<\/p>\n

Training Fees does not include stay and food. Please refer to \u2018Accommodation\u2019 section for that.<\/p>\n

# If you are truly financially challenged and cannot raise the full fees, you can apply for a 50% partial scholarship on both training and stay charges. We have 4 seats for this. Decision of our committee will be final on selection.

## For those registering for both the Permaculture and Natural Building courses together, there will be a 10% discount on the total training fees.<\/p>\n

Multiple options available for varying budgets and preferences. Shoes\/slippers need to be opened outside living areas.<\/p>\n

1. Dormitory-style with shared bathroom block.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Comfortable large space with dorm style sleeping on different levels.
\nMattresses, Pillows, Sheets and Blankets are all provided.<\/p>\n

Rs.950\/day\/person, inclusive of food.<\/p>\n

2. Pitch your own tent.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you have your own tent, we have space for pitching as well, though we can tell you with experience that everyone falls in love with our dormitory spaces and doesn\u2019t want to stay in a small tent.<\/p>\n

Common bathroom block available for use.<\/p>\n

Rs.900\/day\/person, inclusive of food.<\/p>\n

3. Safari tent, with shared bathroom block.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two spacious safari tents are available with option of double bed set-up or single beds.<\/p>\n

All linen and blankets are provided.<\/p>\n

Rs.3600\/day for 3 people, inclusive of food.<\/p>\n

4. Luxurious mud cottages with private bathroom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Four of our exclusive cottages are available, for families or on twin sharing basis. It is an experience to remember.<\/p>\n

Cottages have their own hot water kettle, bedding, towels.<\/p>\n

Rs.5000-6500\/day for 2 people, inclusive of food.<\/p>\n

Meals are common for all residents, buffet style. Vegetarian.

We will help with the coordination with other participants for car pooling and taxi bookings from Delhi. This will be done few days prior to workshop.<\/p>\n

Participants flying in internationally and domestically are advised to fly in to Delhi itself. Please plan to arrive at Delhi latest by 8:30am on 4th Apr.\u201926 if you need a taxi. That way you should be able to reach Geeli Mitti by evening same day.<\/p>\n
