We are a friendly, passionate group of people and furry friends who are working towards the development of the Geeli Mitti community ecologically. We love to work very hard but also to have fun together with music, dancing, bonfires, cooking... as the mood may be.\nWe believe in knowledge sharing I invite you to join in as we build it up together. There are three ways you can be a part of our team: Internships, Volunteering, or Working with Us.<\/p>\n

These are a minimum of 6-month internships, usually for Architectural Students looking to get hands-on experience in sustainable architecture. We specialise in natural buildings, passive solar design, mud and lime work, stonework, innovative designs for rocket stoves, cob ovens and so on and are happy to share the knowledge with you.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Volunteering<\/b><\/p>\n

If you\u2019d like to spend some time volunteering and learning about our way of life, this is the perfect space to do so. You could be someone with an interest in sustainable building or hold some skills that would help us like photography, videography, social media handling, blog writing, wall art painting, Permaculture etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The help is usually physical and involves a lot of manual labour, unless above-mentioned skills. Because of the monsoon season, outdoor work gets limited and random between June-September. We work between 9 am to 5 pm with a 2-hour lunch break. We expect help from you for 5 hours a day.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are based in a remote rural village. The nearest market is 20kms away so all provisions need to be planned few days in advance. We only take volunteers with a minimum commitment of two weeks, to facilitate a meaningful exchange. Please note that there is a volunteering fee applicable of INR 350 per day.<\/p>\n

At the moment we are looking for someone who can work with Public Relations and Social Media Management<\/strong>. If this is something that interests you, let\u2019s give it a go!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are also looking for a full-time Retreat Operations Manager<\/strong> to join us at our beautiful eco-estate Geeli Mitti Centre of Excellence in Uttarakhand. An hour from Naintial, it serves as a demonstration farm, an educational institute and a getaway for people wanting to experience living in natural hobbit homes and a sustainable way of life.
