Intensive Natural Building Workshop, 2025

The Course will include :

– Clearing the concept of natural buildings and different popular techniques with their applications and limitations.
– Working with different soil types for building. Learning to do own soil tests.
– How to use Permaculture principles and concepts of sectors and zoning to decide siting of your home.
– Understanding designing and using solar passive design principles for an energy efficient home.
– Understanding how to build a foundation and plinth and why – dry stone masonry, stone with mortar, rubble trenches.
– Detailed theory, hands-on work to understand by doing, tips and tricks, live tour of real homes of below techniques :
: Earthbag
: Cob
: Wattle and Daub
: Adobe
– Brick laying patterns – differences and applications.
– Plastering : recipes, techniques, finishes, tools and application.
– Building utilities into your design – electricals and plumbing.
– Roofing options and hands-on live build demonstration for Living Roof, Slate Roof, Clay Tile Roof, Thatched Roof.
– Exploring Flooring options for a Natural Home.
– Clay sculpting, murals, mosaic and more.
– Creating and using Clay Paints and Pigments.
– Preparing and using Lime Wash.
– Making Natural Pigments to use.

Rs.35,000 for the 3 weeks intensive training workshop. There will be 1 rest day in between.

All funds, post direct costs, go to support our community initiatives. We do not ask for donations and believe sustainability of any initiative also means financial sustainability.

** Registration amount to reserve your place is Rs.10,000 plus GST.
Balance training fees to be paid as per email communication post-registration. Failure to pay the balance dues by designated timeframe will result in cancellation of your seat and the registration fees will be non-refundable.

You will receive a confirmation email along with a welcome letter with dos and don’ts.

Our seats for the annual workshops fill fast. We don’t allow cancellations for any reason. It helps us prioritise the course and commitment to self. However, If you can’t make it owing to a genuine emergency, you can send someone else in your place with prior intimation.

Training Fees does not include stay and food. Please refer to ‘Accommodation’ section for that.

# If you are truly financially challenged and cannot raise the full fees, you can apply for a 50% partial scholarship on both training and stay charges. We have 4 seats for this. Decision of our committee will be final on selection.

Incomplete application with any of the above specified details missing, will be rejected.

## For those registering for both the Permaculture and Natural Building courses together, there will be a 10% discount on the total training fees.

### Geeli Mitti alumni/students get a 15% training fee waiver on full fees.

We will help with the coordination with other participants for car pooling and taxi bookings from Delhi. This will be done few days prior to workshop.

Participants flying in internationally and domestically are advised to fly in to Delhi itself. Please plan to arrive at Delhi latest by 8:30am on 9th Apr.’25 if you need a taxi. That way you should be able to reach Geeli Mitti by evening same day.

Those coming directly, can plan for arrival to the Geeli Mitti CoE by 5:00pm latest on 9th Apr.’25 or else before 8:30am on 10th Apr.’25 and for departure post 1:00pm on 30th Apr.’25.
